Artist’s illustrations celebrate America
Hello everyone! So... I hope you are all prepared for this Sunday's Fourth of July! We have so much to celebrate!
Creator leaves nothing to chance
Behind every creation, there is a Creator. For instance, nobody believes that Mount Rushmore came about by chance. Common sense tells us that people planned, then skillfully carved the faces of four previous presidents into the side of a stony mountain.
Recount of signing of 1776 Declaration of Independence
On a hot summer day in July of 1776, the men of the Continental Congress in Pennsylvania created a call for Independence by severing ties with England.
Thomas Jefferson wrote: “With a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”
Whale expresses love for grandchild
Hi kids! I hope you are having a great start to a fun summer! Since we just finished celebrating our dads, I didn't want our grandpas to go unnoticed. I had two interesting grandpas. Clyde and Elmer, that's who they were! They were both very different by nature, but they both had something in common, me!
Many have given their lives for our freedoms
After the signing of the Declaration of Independence John Adams said, “I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost to maintain this Declaration and to support and defend the States. Yet through all of the gloom, I can see that the end is worth more than all the means.”

Jun 17, 2021Farmer’s innovative plan serves community
Hello everyone! Since this Sunday is Father's Day, happy Father's Day to all of you! Randy and I are going to celebrate our dads in our hearts and honor them both sprays of flowers from our yard. For this week I wanted to share a story with you about a man who makes a difference in our world. I asked Melody at our library to help me find some good books to read. This man left me with some food for thought. Joel Salatin is a third generation farmer who works with his family in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley.
Step-parents add to a child’s life
Hi kids! Just a reminder, the summer reading program is in full swing at our library! The theme for this year is Tails and Tales. Do you know what a safari is? If you don't, you'll learn all about it at the library.
U.S. military gives world hope
This past Memorial Day, the thought came to me of how our country gives hope to millions around the world, and how that hope was accomplished by our military.
Sherry's Book Corner
Hello everyone! I hope you are all well and enjoying the gifts of spring! The birds are so busy building their nests, just watching them makes me tired. Of course, I am just kidding. I love waking up every morning with the birds as they sing outside our windows.
