Malvern band and choir perform

The Malvern Band and Choir programs held their annual Winter Holiday Concert Sunday, Dec. 13. Each grade level performed at a different time and seating was limited in order to maintain social distancing.

The sixth grade band performed classics such as Up on a Housetop and Jolly Old St. Nick. The percussion section performed Jingle Bells as a feature. The sixth grade band also performed an original composition titled Gingerbread Men on Parade.

The sixth grade choir sang several partner songs which included Winter Sleigh Ride, Gettin’ Ready for Santa Claus, and Jingle All the Way! The sixth grade choir also performed a piece called Christmas Is.

The seventh grade band performed Christmas Overture, Secret Agent Sugar Plum and Christmas on the Farm, while the seventh grade choir sang A Holly Jolly Holiday, Here Comes Santa Claus, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and Have a Merry One!

The day concluded with the high school concert band performing The Good King Swings, a portion of selections from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Mozart at the North Pole.

The combined eighth grade and high school choirs performed Carol of the Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Sleigh Ride. Chyanne Ford, Kenzi Riley and John Robertson sang Believe. John Robertson also sang O Holy Night as a solo. Mrs. Julie Fairless and Miss Jeneva Ford plan to hold a spring concert in May.
