The Holmes County District Public Library will offer many programs in December. Call the library at 330-674-5972 for more information or to register for any events.

Story Celebrations will take place at the East Branch Library on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 1, 8 and 15. Kids age 2-5 with an adult are welcome for stories, songs, crafts and more.

Story times will take place at the Central Library on Fridays at 10 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 3, 10 and 17. Kids age 2-5 with an adult are invited for stories, activities and songs. Registration is required.

There will be a take and make kit for adults at the Central Library or East Branch Library. Pick up a craft kit containing supplies to make a button wreath on a burlap canvas. Kits will be available beginning Nov. 29.

There also will be a holiday take and make craft kit for teens at the Central Library or East Branch Library. Cinnamon stick tree ornament kits will be available for pickup at the beginning of December.

A holiday gift workshop will be at the Central Library on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. Learn to make sugar scrubs and bath bombs with OSU educator Kate Shumaker. Registration is required.

Reading Is Snow Much Fun, the winter reading program, will begin Monday, Dec. 6 for age 2-12. Pick up your winter reading log at either library location and get ready to read and earn prizes.

Holiday Family Fun Night at the Central Library will be Thursday, Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m. Join for waffle cone Christmas tree decorating, crafts and Mad Libs. Children need to be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.

Book sales at the Central Library will take place Saturday, Dec. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Tuesday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Find a variety of adult, teen and children’s materials.

Teen Christmas Party Open House at the Central Library will be Dec. 18 from 1-3 p.m. for age 12-18. Drop in, enjoy refreshments and watch Christmas movies. Be creative and make a wood-burned ornament or decorate a Christmas gift box or bag. While at the party, enter the drawing to win AirPods with a charging case.

A book discussion for adults will be at the Central Library on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. on “Waiting for the Night Song” by Julie Carrick Dalton and on “The Glass Hotel” by Emily St. John Mandel at 6 p.m. Copies of these books are available for pickup at the Central Library’s help desk.
