Rotary International has restarted the storied youth exchange program, and the Wooster Rotary Club is actively seeking applications for students aged 15-19 who are interested in participating during the 2023-24 academic year.

Students spend 10 months abroad cultivating language and cultural skills by living with host families and attending a local high school. Prior knowledge of the language of the host country is not required.

The Wooster Rotary Club invites students and families in the Wooster City, Triway, Northwestern, Smithville, Norwayne and Central Christian school districts to attend an information session at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, in APEX in the lower level of the Gault Library, 1140 Beall Ave., on The College of Wooster campus.

Members of the Rotary Youth Exchange Committee will provide details on the scope and requirements of the program, approximate costs and countries with which exchanges are most common. Information on serving as a host family will also be shared.

If interested but unable to attend, contact Rotary District 6650 Youth Exchange co-chair Brent Rice at
