Health Dept. has COVID, flu vaccines available

The Wayne County Health Department will administer a Pfizer third-dose COVID-19 vaccine booster to those eligible on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. at the Wooster American Red Cross, 244 W. South St., Wooster.

Booster doses will be available for those making appointments. Anyone between 65 and older and 18-64 with specific medical conditions is eligible. You must have had two doses of Pfizer, and the second dose must be six months ago. Visit the Wayne County Health Department website at www.wayne-health.org and then click the Coronavirus tab for a list of the medical conditions, and then click the link to register for an appointment.

This is a Pfizer third-dose clinic only. No other vaccines will be administered at this location on this day. This is appointment only and remember to bring your vaccine card for verification of previous doses.

The Wayne County Health Department also is currently accepting appointments for influenza vaccines. Both high dose and regular flu vaccine appointments are available.

All influenza vaccines will be given at the health department at 203 S. Walnut St. in Wooster. To schedule an appointment, call 330-264-9590 and select option 3 for the nursing services menu, then press 1 for immunization scheduling.
