Tuscarawas County engineer Joe Bachman has been named the 2021 Engineer of the Year by the County Engineer’s Association of Ohio.

Bachman has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer degree from the University of Cincinnati. He has served as Tuscarawas County engineer since 1989.

“I am very proud of the improvements that have been made in Tuscarawas County by our great staff,” Bachman said. “As Tuscarawas County engineer, I inherited 53 load-limited bridges in 1989; we currently have two load-limited bridges. I inherited 40 miles of gravel roads in 1989; every road in the county is now hard surfaced. I am honored to receive this award.”
