Sciarretti crowned New Philadelphia Lions rose queen

The New Philadelphia Lions Club recently crowned Gina Sciarretti as its 2021 rose queen at the club’s annual Rose Day Banquet at Ricardo’s in New Philadelphia. Sciarretti’s selection makes her the 72nd rose queen for the club, dating back to 1949. Joining her on the court are attendants Samantha Masters and Alyssa Miller.

Sciarretti is the daughter of John and Lori Sciarretti. She is a senior at Tuscarawas Central Catholic and attends post-secondary classes at Kent State Tuscarawas. Her school activities include volleyball, basketball, track, student council, class treasurer and National Honor Society. She was a delegate to Buckeye Girls State this past summer. Following graduation, she plans to study pre-med curriculum with an emphasis on pediatrics.

Masters is the daughter of Mike and Susan Masters. She is a senior at Buckeye Career Center in the prenursing program. She is a four-year member of the Marching Quaker Band and Winter Guard. Her outside activities include part-time jobs and volunteering at church, and she is a 10-year member of 4-H. Next year she plans to enroll in the Kent State Tuscarawas nursing program and hopes to work in pediatrics someday.

Miller is the daughter of Chris and Renee Miller. She is a senior at New Philadelphia High School and attends post-secondary classes at Kent State Tuscarawas. Her school activities include basketball, track, student council, Spanish Club and National Honor Society. She was recently crowned New Philadelphia homecoming queen. Following graduation, she plans on playing basketball at the college level and studying either sports marketing or sports management.

The rose queen and attendants were selected by the seniors at New Philadelphia High School, Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School and Buckeye Career Center.
